There are some “rules” that every client should follow before coming for a tattoo session. Today Flame Wise Ink will share what these important steps are about and why they should be followed. All rules were established based on physiology and psychology.
It’s essential to keep being hydrated throughout the session, and drink lots of water beforehand. Staying fully hydrated is definitely beneficial, but in this situation, it lets you stay strong longer and heal faster.
We always ask our clients to eat before the session as it’s really important. Your body needs a 100% energy level, especially because you will likely be uncomfortable during the time when sensitive skin would be affected by the needles. If you don’t do so, you can experience insomnia, low blood sugar or tiredness. So have a good dinner a night before your tattoo appointment, and full breakfast the following morning. It’s also good to bring some snacks with you.
At Flame Wise Ink we know that during a tattoo session your blood sugar level drops down significantly so we always carry some chocolates and pops to quickly restore sugar level and keep you energized.
If you planned on going to the party or club before the tattoo session day – don’t. You can postpone these events. Being fully rested makes you less twitchy and you’ll end up with better lines. Moreover, alcohol and certain medications are blood thinners and can cause complications during and after a tattoo session, so please, avoid them 24 hours before the session.
Wear clothes in which you will feel comfortable and convenient, and the artist will have access to the skin area on which the tattoo will be done. You can read all the details and recommendations in one of our articles about tattoo appointment “dress code”.
If you didn’t shave for a long time or don’t shave at all, carefully do it before the appointment. If you cut your skin with a razor, it’s necessary to notify your tattoo artist. Moreover, sometimes both men and women have pimples on their body, so please, do not mask them with foundation and/or powder, just tell an artist about the pimple “situation”. Also keep an eye on any types of rashes or bruises, wounds, scabs. We can’t tattoo over them.
During workouts our muscle expands significantly by getting filled with extra blood and oxygen, causing an increase of blood pressure. That may negatively affect the tattooing process as well, so please skip your training 24 hours before the appointment.
If you just came back from the vacation from some sunny destination, notify your artist right away as we may need to wait 1-2 weeks for the skin to cool down before we can tattoo it.
Tattoo sessions take some time, so in case you get bored, take some entertaining things that you like with you. We highly recommend taking earphones and a phone or a tablet. If you want, you can also bring some chocolates or snacks with you. Bringing a small pillow for a long tattoo session will help you to stay comfortable in a tattoo chair.
Proper preparation leads to a beautiful tattoo, please contact Flame Wise Ink tattoo studio if you still have any questions.
